Driving more visitors to his site online than people driving up to galleries to see his work, my artist friend uses an art blog to talk about his work, his upcoming shows and about his personal life. Blogs are not new to the normal internet junkie but have made it to the mainstream where any and everyone is using a blog to talk about their life, career, relationship, etc.
First, the internet is an awesome tool for any artist to market their work and establish their art business. There are thousands of artists who are creating art blogs to display their work. If you are just getting started, art blogs are a great way to display your work online. It’s inexpensive and easy to set up. Two of the most popular platforms are wordpress.org and blogspot.com. They both allow you to be very creative with the design layout. What is cool about having an art blog is that you can post info about your creative process, post images of your new work and even post videos of you actually creating your artwork. As you already know, people love to see artist at work.
So if you working on making a presence online or already have a site but want to drive traffic to your main artist site, an artist blog would be great.
