Is Your Artwork Good Enough to Sell?

Is Your Artwork Good Enough to Sell?
Why does someone buy one artist artwork and not another artwork. Is it because of the price, quality of work or becuase one artists has a better reputation than the other. What ever it may be, people buy what they like and the relationship they have with the customer. So if you are wonder if your work is good enough put it out there and see what people are saying. If one person buys a piece from you then someone else will. You can improve on your work as you move along in your career.
When I first started selling my artwork I got a little intimidated by the more experience artist. I always wanted to be in a position to sell artwork on a level where I was bringing in money on a constantly basis and recongnition from galleries and art critics. I remember thinking if I just hang around art galleries and musuems that some how I would get discovered and I would have a nice following. I also remember having doubts about my work not being good enough. The more I think about it I was selling myself short. I was always skeptical in applying for art festivals. I remember a gallery telling me to come back when I’m ready because I didnt have enough paintings and my work at the time needed improving.
One of the ways I overcame my doubts and fears was reading a lot of books on following your dreams and conquering fears. I also read books by master artists Jack White. His books help me a lot about selling art and stepping out of my convert zone and making things happen.
I would suggest you to find ways to overcome your fear and step out there and see what happens. You can improve as you go along. A lot of times our work is good enough but we are just afraid to put it out into the market.
